With just some rope, poles and barrels, can you build a titan of the seas, or will it be more of a Titanic?……
This activity has the possibility of getting very wet! Depending on the quality of the groups raft design and their construction skills in putting it together, you might stay high and dry or end up spending a lot of your time swimming. Constructing the rafts using just barrels, poles, rope takes a lot of imagination and intuition, and is a great activity where everyone is encouraged to develop their communication and co-operative skills, and have ridiculous amounts of fun testing the limits of every raft design and their designers.
The activity can be tailored to fit all sorts of bookings; from birthday parties all the way up to business team building days. For team building or multi-activity bookings, this makes a great culmination to the day with the teams completing challenges to earn parts for their raft as they go along, before using their raft for a final competition. And for groups such as schools, we can also include a model making design challenge where each time can test and refine their raft design in miniature in the classroom before replicating it full size for real.
To ensure you get the most out of your activity, we ask that participants meet some minimum abilities.
- Being capable of swimming 25m with a buoyancy aid is preferred, but if not participants should at least be comfortable being in the water wearing a buoyancy aid.
