Experience the UKs highest peak in all its winter glory! Scale Ben Nevis with its white coat on up the classic Mountain Track.
Standing at the top of the highest point in the UK and looking out over the snow capped peaks for as far as you can see is one of the Scottish winters great achievements. Now we can’t guarantee that the weather will be on your side for the views, but you can be sure that the sense of accomplishment will be there and well deserved!
A winter ascent of Ben Nevis is a serious undertaking. Our normal route of choice is the Mountain Track leading up from the Glen Nevis Visitor Centre. In summer conditions, ascending Ben Nevis can be not much more than a long walk for many people, but in winter the short daylight hours and changing weather conditions mean that it can become a challenge to be respected by all mountaineers, no matter which route up you take.
If you are new to winter walking or have limited experience, then we recommend attending one of our Winter Skills courses first and make this trip a fantastic culmination of your training. Winter mountain kit is essential; ice axe, winter boots and crampons, all of which can be hired locally.
Reaching the summit of Ben Nevis can never be guaranteed and is highly dependent on the weather, ground conditions and group ability. In those situations, we will discuss the alternative options for the day, although we will always try to summit where possible.
To ensure you get the most out of your activity, we ask that participants meet some minimum abilities.
